"Desert of Peace", 6x6"
This painting was inspired by a photograph taken by my good friend, Kaitlyn, while travelling in the desert in the Norther Territory of Australia (see in the slide show to the left). I loved this photo because of the blue sky and the hints of rusty red on the rocks— the colours are just breathtaking! Even though the colours in the photo are quite vibrant, the image still offered a sense of comfort— nature tends to do that, doesn’t it?
As you can see, this painting is more of an abstract depiction of this photograph as I wanted to capture the peace it offered my heart rather than the visual vibrancy. I hope you can still sense the natural beauty that originally inspired the colours and composition of this piece.
