This piece was inspired by a photograph and memory of a place called Outdshoorn which is in South Africa. I spent 4 weeks here back in 2012, where I lived with three 10-year-old African elephants. In this very short time, these beautiful creatures captured such a large part of my heart that will never fade. I will forever be in love with this small, beautiful, magical place called Outdshoorn— this painting is a celebration of this time of my life.
