The Daughters Collection was originally created due to my love for wildflowers and what they represent. Wildflowers are resilient and grow freely wherever they may lay. They are small but mighty and each beautiful in their own way.

The story behind the names.

Initially, I really struggled with naming these paintings. When I let the meaning of the collection sit with me, my niece, Avee-Lynn, popped into my head and I discovered the idea of naming a flower after her. Since wildflowers teach us that we too can be strong and beautiful, and encourage us to grow freely, I thought it was the perfect idea to give Avee-Lynn’s spirit the space to live within the meaning and lessons of a special wildflower. Avee-Lynn’s mother was so touched and honoured to have a painting named after her daughter, I decided to dedicate this entire collection to all mother’s and their love for their daughters. Each painting is named after a real person, a real loved one.
