Seeds of Summer
This painting is inspired by the subtle magic that happens under earth’s soil. Flowers may be planted in Summer, such as perennials, which flourish in the sun and lay dormant through the winter. It’s amazing to me that come springtime, they actually know to peek out and grow again towards the sky.
Even though this painting is a nature-inspired abstract, one may be able to see the sky, horizon line, and a colourful jumble that symbolizes life underground. Just as the ocean is a whole other world that we don’t get to see all of, I feel the same for the entire world underground that lives, thrives and continues to grow despite being out of our eyesight.
